The Scottish Government’s aim is to create a more successful nation, with opportunities for all. Underpinning this is a focus on growing a strong and diverse economy to support a fairer and more inclusive society, and the recognition that innovation is fundamental to increasing growth and addressing the societal challenges and inequalities we face.

This approach is helping to spark a new spirit of entrepreneurism and innovation across Scotland, which already has a vibrant economy with strengths in the area such as life sciences and energy as well as a world class university sector. Being part of the Big Innovation Centre will support these ambitions and encourage new thinking and fresh approaches to policy making. It will also help progress the Scottish Government’s emerging agenda on Fair Work, where it hopes that ensuring the right conditions in the workplace will help people flourish and contribute their creativity to the success of their organisations

Membership will also provide the opportunity to work on an open and collaborative basis with other like-minded organisations to encourage innovation that will significantly benefit the economy and people’s everyday lives.
