Peter Reid is a serial entrepreneur who has worked in both the commercial and the not-for-profit sectors.
Peter sat of Big Innovation Centre (BIC) Steering Committee for three years (2011-14) and works with BIC on selected projects, including the Intellectual Property Exchange.
Peter led the launch of the Digital Catapult for UK government's innovation agency “Innovate UK” (previously called Technology Strategy Board). Peter conceived and was CEO of London Technology Network (LTN), a not-for-profit organisation, from 2002 till 2012. From 2000 to 2009 Peter was the founding CEO of CSEL: a charitable joint venture between London Business School and UCL which stimulated the creation of new innovation-focused courses and departments at both universities while raising funding to support their activities. CSEL also ran a national scholarship programme in scientific enterprise. Peter also previously founded a number of technology-based companies, was appointed Managing Director an engineering company which he sold to a PLC and has acted as a business consultant and angel investor. He has been as school governor, charity trustee, member of a university’s Council, chair of a science-based business incubator, advisor to university proof of concept funds and taken many other formal and informal roles. Peter has degrees from UCL (BSc Physics) and London Business School (MSc in Administration, Sloan Fellow).
