Action Groups

The central structure for the Big Innovation Centre’s work with our partners is through open innovation Action Groups. These groups each have a focus beyond sectors on the future carriers of growth in the UK economy.

The first three areas chosen cover parts of our economy where we see the potential for rapid innovation: big data and the digital economy, green growth and health.

By bringing together individuals with specialist expertise from a range of different businesses and organisations, these groups will set up practical projects to help solve key technological and socio-economic challenges, and exploit the new opportunities presented by each.
